Technology and the internet can be a great enabler for girls but a lack of opportunities, skills and a fear of discrimination prevent many from using and creating digital tools and online content. To achieve gender equality, girls and young women need equal access to technology, digital training and to be safe online.

Without equal access to technology and the internet, boys, girls and women of deprived communities are not able to equally participate in our ever more digital societies. This gap affects every aspect of their lives, including their ability to speak out and campaign on issues that affect them. Moreover, if these students are not involved in creating digital tools and online content, they may exacerbate existing inequalities.

What is Digital Divide

The digital divide refers to the gap between those who benefit from the Digital Age and those who don't. People without access to the Internet and other information and communication technologies are put at a disadvantage, as they are unable or less able to obtain digital information, shop online, participate democratically, or learn and offer skills. We at The Digital Divide are committed to cut the Digital Divide by helping the other side of the division with access high speed internet, computers, laptop, smart devices and related services to people without access. We cannot do it alone.

The Digital Divide may not be able to reach everyone, but with your generous donation and support, we will be able to help the people and families in our community with the basic essentials and guidance along the way!
